Homes for Cathy Education Pack
19th September 2016
‘Homes for Cathy’ is a group of housing associations that were formed in the 1960/70s.
They have come together to mark the 50th anniversary of the showing of the drama documentary ‘Cathy Come Home’ on BBC TV in November 1966.
A number of activities have been organised to celebrate the event and to raise awareness of the issues surrounding homelessness. To help spread the message an education pack has been designed specifically for young people aged between 11 and 19. The modules can be completed in isolation, or as part of a set.
The modules can be delivered in a school setting and are free to access, although individual schools / youth groups are welcome to carry out any fundraising activities after learning about the issues around homelessness.
The pack can be downloaded here.
