Nadeem Ahmad

Board Member

Nadeem (linkedin.com/in/nadeemahmad4) has over 40 years’ experience in race, community relations and migration; gained during his employment as Northumbria Police’s Race Relations Advisor [1985 to 1992] and Newcastle City Council’s Race Relations Officer [1992 to 2000] and Regional Partnership Manager for the North East Strategic Migration Partnership [2000 to 2012].

He also brings a wealth of experience in Housing through his various Voluntary roles, last being as Committee Member of Thirteen Group’s Remuneration Committee [2013 to 2021].

Nadeem is the Chair of ITV/Tyne Tees Diversity Panel, member of the North East Race, Crime and Justice Research Network and in July 2021 was appointed as Vice chair of the NHF’s Board Member Group on EDI with focus on Race in year one.

During his working life he has been involved in and has initiated and managed many local, regional, national, and transnational projects, most recently taking up a part time role as an Engagement Worker for Asian Elders [Men] in the West of Newcastle upon Tyne.
