Nadeem joined the Tyne Housing Board in 2021.
He has over 40 years of experience in race, community relations and migration; gained during his employment as Northumbria Police’s Race Relations Advisor [1985 to 1992] and Newcastle City Council’s Race Relations Officer [1992 to 2000] and as a Regional Partnership Manager for the North East Strategic Migration Partnership [2000 to 2012].
He has experience in housing through his various voluntary roles dating back to 1988 as a Member of the then-named North British Housing Association and his most recent experience as a Committee Member of Thirteen Group’s Remuneration Committee [2013 to 2021].
He currently Chair’s ITV/Tyne Tees Diversity Panel, is a member of the North East Race, Crime and Justice Research Network, and was recently appointed as a School Governor for a Primary School in North Tyneside.
During his working life, he has been involved in and has initiated and managed many local, regional, national, and transnational projects. In January 2023, he was appointed as an Engagement and Involvement Officer for Heathwatch Newcastle.
