We are a small, locally-focused charitable housing association and Registered Provider of Social Housing, established in Newcastle in 1973. We stand by the North East’s most vulnerable people; those facing homelessness/unstable housing and often dealing with multiple complex needs. We help people get to a better place through our specialist supported housing, healthcare, and community projects.

Funding pressures are making it harder to support vulnerable people, and revenue funding often falls short of delivery costs. Your support can help change that.

Every pound you give goes directly to the people who need it most through our Progression Team – whether it’s helping to keep the doors to our Joseph Cowen Wellbeing Hub open, or funding fresh ingredients for our training kitchen where residents learn to cook and eat together, it all makes a huge difference.

Where Your Money Goes

Your donations go towards our services which are most subject to funding concerns:

The Joseph Cowen Health Centre

The Wellbeing Hub exists so that people who are experiencing homelessness or who are not registered with a GP can have access to primary healthcare and support services. Visitors can access clothing donations, hot and cold refreshments, mental health support, a harm reduction service, and more.

Training Kitchen

Our Training Kitchen opens the door for our residents and visitors to get hands-on training delivered by our partners and a dedicated sessional chef, and even come out of it with a qualification.

Workshop & Studio

Residents and visitors can get involved with a wide range of activities at the Workshop, including woodworking, creative writing, and music production. It’s a great space where vulnerable people can make new connections in a creative setting.

The Progression Hub

The Progression Hub provides a dedicated space where Tyne and partners can deliver services, training and more progression activities to our residents, visitors and other individuals who are facing or are at risk of homelessness.
