The Easter bunny made an early trip over to South Tyneside this week to drop off a donation of chocolate eggs to Tyne housing, an organisation that supports some of the borough’s most vulnerable and marginalised people through housing and support services.
The eggs provided to Tyne were just one of ten different Easter donations made by the People’s Angels, a community interest company that’s committed to raising funds and donations for vulnerable and disadvantaged people living in South Tyneside.
Daniele Stephen, a housing support officer for Tyne said, “We’ve been incredibly lucky to work with the People’s Angels in South Tyneside for a number of years now, they’ve often helped to provide much-needed donations of clothes, toiletries and furniture for the people we support.”
“Many of the people we work with have faced homelessness and struggles that result in negative feelings towards themselves and their lives. Although an easter egg may be a small token to some, it’s not to our residents. We’re looking forward to continuing our partnership with the Peoples Angels to make a truly positive and lasting difference to our community in South Tyneside.”
