Board Member

  • Deadline 30 June 2023

There’s never been a better time to apply to join the Board of Tyne Housing, and really make a difference.

We currently have a vacancy for the position of Board Member.

We have a new Strategic Plan 2021-2026, and a healthy financial position from which to deliver it. Most importantly we have a clear sense of purpose, a strong commitment to our region and a brilliant staff team. We have a strong board with a comprehensive skills mix amongst our current members, and now wish to strengthen those further.

We’re looking to attract individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds and our number one criteria is that you want to make a difference. We welcome applicants from women and other under-represented groups and we are keen to reach out to individuals who may not have thought that board membership was for them. We have created ‘observer’ roles to enable people to see for themselves how a board operates and better understand the role of a board member.

These are unpaid positions but we pay all reasonable expenses as well as invest in our members’ development. Board meetings are held quarterly and generally late afternoon/early evening.

thank you for your interest,

Steve McKinlay,

Chief Executive, Tyne Housing
