We’re recruiting on behalf of an ambitious and innovative place-based Employment Partnership between 13 regional social housing providers to build our capacity to support more people into good quality work than ever before. We want to do this by using our unique position of trust as a landlord to hundreds of thousands of tenants, and as anchor organisations across all of our communities.
We’re investing our own resources and will secure government and charitable funding to support our ambitions. We will provide a simple link to employers of all sizes and their vacancies, and we will provide opportunities for training and development to fill those vacancies.
Our Partnership is providing 2-years’ seed funding for this project, but we expect it to grow and develop into a long-term feature of the employment landscape in the region, and provide a trusted and distinctive ‘northern voice’ for the housing sector within employability and inward investment.
To achieve this you will need to be highly organised, resilient and effective at influencing across organisational boundaries and at all levels. Insight into the employability sector will be essential as will a track record of securing income from large scale contracts, commissions, and grants linked to employability and skills (for instance SFA/DWP and EU structural funds), as we position ourselves to bid into Shared Prosperity Funding, and other large scale investment in keeping with the government’s stated ambitions around ‘levelling up’ the regions of the UK.
Secondments will be considered for the right candidate and the location of the role is flexible; however regular regional travel and occasional national travel will be expected.
