Rapid Rehousing Worker – Gateshead

  • Salary £16,025
  • Location Gateshead
  • Status 25 hours
  • Deadline 24 October 2022

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of Tyne Housing Association’s new Rough Sleeping Accommodation Program which provides self-contained flats with support for people who are rough sleeping, or are ready to leave accommodation for rough sleepers. In partnership with Gateshead Council we have secured funding from Homes England to provide 4 flats supported by 1 part-time Rapid Rehousing Worker 25 hours per week.

The new Rapid Rehousing Worker will  provide intensive, personalised support for these four properties to help our residents maintain a tenancy, access training or employment, move away from harmful behaviour, re-engage with services, and eventually move back into mainstream accommodation.

It’s a challenging role. You will be out and about working directly with the people on your caseload, initially preparing individuals referred by Gateshead Council for this offer. You will work intensively with each person, and with a range of other stakeholders, to ensure that they get the support they need to maintain their tenancy, and ultimately to move on to permanent accommodation. You will also be expected to handle out of hours calls on a rota basis, for which an allowance is payable.

We are looking for empathetic, dedicated and resilient individuals who can work on their own initiative and aren’t afraid of taking a decision, but most of all we need people who can get on board with our values and want to help people get to a better place.
