Rapid Rehousing Worker – North Tyneside

  • Salary £20,754 - £21,804
  • Location North Tyneside
  • Status 37.5 hours per week
  • Deadline 11 April 2022

We are really excited to have won a contract with North Tyneside Council to deliver intensive support to 6 rough sleepers. With funding from the Government’s Rough Sleeper Accommodation Programme up to March 2024, this scheme will be aiming to provide lasting housing solutions for some of the Borough’s most persistent rough sleepers.

North Tyneside Council have purchased 6 flats across the Borough specifically to house these individuals and you will be working intensively with them to ensure that they are able to keep their tenancies, and then move on into more mainstream accommodation.

It’s a challenging, but rewarding, role. We don’t expect that people need support Monday – Friday, 9-5, so there will be evening and weekend working, and you will be expected to handle out of hours calls on a rota basis, for which an allowance is payable.

You will be out and about working directly with the people on your caseload. You will work intensively with each person, and with a range of other stakeholders, to ensure that they get the support they need to maintain their tenancy, and ultimately to move on to permanent accommodation.

We need an experienced Support Worker who can work on their own initiative and aren’t afraid of taking a decision, but most of all we need people who can get on board with our values and want to help people get to a better place.
