Tenancy Support Worker

We are looking for an enthusiastic, determined and empathetic individual to join our small team in the Rough Sleeping Accommodation Programme (RSAP) providing assertive outreach support for tenants with complex needs who have recently experienced homelessness.

As the Tenancy Support Worker you will be out and about working directly with the people on your caseload, including preparing individuals referred by Gateshead or Newcastle Council for moving into their new tenancy.

This is a busy, fast-paced role providing person-centred support for up to 4 tenants. You will work intensively with each person, and with a range of other stakeholders, to ensure that they get the support they need to maintain their tenancy, and ultimately to move on to permanent mainstream accommodation. You will also be expected to handle out of hours calls on a rota basis, for which an allowance is payable.

This can be both challenging and very rewarding work. We want individuals who can work on their own initiative with the ability to quickly build rapport with our tenants; being persistent, consistent, determined and resilient. We need people who can get on board with our values and want to help people get to a better place.

The post will be working with residents in Gateshead and Newcastle, it will be based at our offices in Newcastle.
