Launched toward the end of 2019, the ‘Move-on programme’ aims to help those who are currently living in emergency or supported accommodation move forward towards independent living and into work and volunteering.
Following consultation with residents and the insight gathered from our comprehensive social value assessment, Tyne was able to identify that there was a real need for something to plug the gap when it came to the transition between supported housing and independent living. The programme does exactly that, working with residents on a one-to-one basis, it provides integrated, flexible support to help people develop their skills and confidence as they move forward towards independence.
The programme has been made possible thanks to a partnership with Homes England who is funding the purchase of twelve properties that can be let at affordable rent levels as well as the funds to employ a full-time employability coach who works alongside the residents and the wider community.
